Dan Orfin was born and raised in Metro Detroit. He spent his early years in Sterling Heights and then later moved to Rochester. He grew up with two brothers and a sister. When Dan was growing up, he learned the value of a dollar from his parents. They taught him that nothing is free in life and if you want something, work hard and smart and you can have it. Dan started working as a paperboy when he was 12 years old. Then he worked for a small business owner, at a pizzeria, in Rochester. Once he graduated from High School, he went to Western Michigan University and got a degree in Production Operation MGMT. When Dan graduated from WMU, he took a job with General Motors. He quickly learned that he wanted to own his own business and help his neighbors in the community. Dan got into the insurance business in 1999. He has historically been in the top 1% of Producers Nationwide.
Laura Dailey
Marketing Manager
Laura Dailey joined the Orfin Team in 2016 as the marketing manager in charge of planning Retirement Workshops, Client Events and Scheduling. She has been a friend and colleague of Dan Orfin’s for almost 18 years.
After spending 10 years in the insurance and financial industry, Laura spent 3 years in Shanghai, China with her husband teaching English to Chinese migrants and professionals and doing volunteer work with victims of human trafficking.
Prior to joining the team, Laura was the recruiting and training manager for a local insurance firm where she also managed social media and marketing campaigns.
She continues her volunteer work in and around Detroit. In her free time, she enjoys boating and spin classes as well as National and International travel with family and friends.
Laura lives in the Village of Wolverine Lake with her husband Tom and has two grown boys living in Chicago and Clearwater Beach.
She has worked with and trained office staff around the country while maintaining outstanding customer service, a top priority of Orfin & Associates.

Chyenne Hayes joined the Orfin team in October of 2017. Her title is Client Services Manager. She’s a Fiduciary – licensed Life Producer and Series 65 Investment Advisor Representative. Chyenne meets with clients and talks with them in regard to the opening of new accounts, questions on existing accounts, and service-related requests that pertain to annuities, life insurance, and asset/wealth management. Chyenne also processes all new business, and works to ensure clients are well-informed and all transactions are documented and processed correctly. She has 10+ years of experience in customer service, with a focus on the financial services industry. She believes that flawless, real-time service to clients is of the utmost importance and is committed to ensuring that this is reflected in the service department. Before moving to the Client Service Manager promotion in 2020, her previous position with Orfin & Associates was assistant marketer and admin.
Chyenne attended Jackson College, and graduated in 2016 with a degree in Criminal Justice. She currently lives in Pontiac, Michigan, with her husband. She enjoys spending time outdoors; everything from hunting and fishing to hiking and camping. She also loves volunteering and is involved with the non-profit Monarch Wings – Hope Against Trafficking.

Client Service Assistant
Lauren Zitny joined the team in December 2023 as the Client Service Assistant. She is licensed in Life, Health and Annuities. Lauren grew up in Oxford, Michigan, and graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 with a degree in Hospitality Business. Prior to joining the team, Lauren had 7 years of experience in Customer Service and 3 years of experience in Real Estate Finance. Lauren currently lives in Clarkston, MI with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, sports events, and going on walks with her dogs, in addition to boating, snow skiing, and traveling with family and friends.

Stephanie McCoy joined the team in April of 2024 with the title of client service assistant. She grew up in Boston, MA, and moved to Michigan at 18. Stephanie holds multiple insurance licenses and is currently studying for her securities license (series 65). Prior to Orfin & Associates, Stephanie was in Property & Casualty and an insurance procedure and information trainer. She also owned her own business as a makeup artist. She has 2 children, got married in 2023, and currently lives in Madison Heights, Michigan. Her hobbies include camping and traveling.

Nicole Hoover
Administrative Assistant
Nicole Hoover joined the Orfin team in 2021 as an appointment scheduler and admin. She oversees various office functions and is typically the first voice you hear when calling our Troy Office. Before joining the team, she had 3 years of administrative assistant experience and 8 years of customer service experience. Nicole is licensed in Life Insurance and Annuities and assists with various client services. She currently lives in Clarkston, MI, and in her free time, loves to play in her kickball league, golf, kayak, and spend time with her family and friends as often as possible.
